What the Free plan lets you configure

The Free plan provides the core controls needed to place a useful variant table on a Shopify product page. You can enable or disable the table, choose a clear table title, change the add-to-cart button text, and hide Shopify's native buying controls when they would duplicate the table.

Step 1: Install and open the app

Install Smart Variant Table from the Shopify App Store, then open it from Shopify admin. The app settings are where you control whether the table is visible and how its main labels appear.

Step 2: Enable the variant table

Turn on the app and save the setting. This allows the storefront table to render where the Smart Variant Table app block has been added to the product template. If the block is not present yet, follow the Shopify theme editor setup guide.

Step 3: Set the table title and button text

Choose customer-friendly labels such as “Choose your variants” and “Add selected variants to cart.” Keep both labels concise so they remain easy to scan on desktop and mobile.

Step 4: Remove duplicate Shopify controls

If your theme still displays its own variant picker, quantity selector, or add-to-cart button beside the table, use the Free plan options to hide those native controls. The goal is one clear route from variant selection to cart.

Step 5: Preview a real multi-variant product

Open a product that has several variants. Confirm that every expected option appears, selections can be changed, and selected items reach the cart correctly. Repeat the check on a phone-sized screen before publishing your theme changes.

• Enable the app and save the settings.
• Write a clear table title and add-to-cart label.
• Hide duplicate native Shopify controls where needed.
• Test variant selection and cart behavior on desktop and mobile.
• Open a second product to make sure the template behaves consistently.

When to move to the Standard plan

Stay on Free when you need the basic table and label controls. Consider Standard when customers need variant images, visible stock and prices, layout choices, quantity styling, or color controls. The Standard plan video guide explains those options.
